Campaign description

Our roads, footpaths, and public spaces are reflections of our civic values. Unfortunately, they are often cluttered with garbage, plastic waste, construction debris, and unhygienic conditions that affect both the environment and public health. At Punamiya Foundation, we believe that a clean neighborhood builds a strong nation — and that change begins with each of us.

We launched our Road and Surroundings Cleaning Initiative with the goal of not just picking up litter, but also transforming how people think about public cleanliness. Clean streets mean safer, healthier lives. When communities take ownership of their surroundings, the environment improves — and so does our sense of pride and responsibility.

From inner-city slums to busy marketplaces, and school zones to housing societies, our dedicated team of volunteers is working tirelessly to clean, educate, and inspire. Because we don’t just want cleaner roads — we want cleaner mindsets.

Key Focus Areas of Our Initiative

  • Conduct regular clean-up drives in streets, footpaths, marketplaces, school zones, and public spaces.

  • Mobilize local citizens, shopkeepers, students, and volunteers to take active responsibility for their surroundings.

  • Install and promote the use of dustbins, waste segregation systems, and composting units.

  • Run awareness campaigns to educate the public about cleanliness, hygiene, and responsible waste disposal.

  • Coordinate with municipal bodies to address issues such as illegal dumping, open drains, and poor sanitation infrastructure.

  • Organize educational sessions in schools and communities to build long-term habits of cleanliness.

  • Distribute cleaning tools and protective gear (gloves, brooms, dustpans, masks) to ensure safe and effective participation.

  • Recognize and reward committed volunteers and local leaders through certificates, appreciation events, and public acknowledgment.
